Mianzhu-Mao County Highway is located in Sichuan Province, China, starting from Hanwang Town, Mianzhu City, and ending at Guangming Township, Mao County. The total length of the line is 56km, including 51 bridges and 20 tunnels. The main line passes through 4 seismic fault zones of Longmen Mountain, 77 hidden danger points of local disasters, and the bridge-tunnel ratio is up to 94%. The mountains along the line are steep, with complex geology and frequent natural disasters.
Main Work Undertaken
JSTI carried out field survey on landform, geological hazards, lithology and distribution of barrier lake along the line.
Innovation Points
As the first self-designed mountainous highway of JSTI, the designers solved the technical problems of transportation of survey equipment, utilization of waste earth, treatment of barrier lake, determination of anti-seismic standard of bridge, balance of safety and construction cost one by one, and formed a dynamic design scheme of “passing though one section and designing one section”. Based on the principle of “no damage during small earthquake, repairable during medium earthquake and no collapse during large earthquake”, the designer found a balance between construction cost and safety.
